FILLING A CHRISTMAS HAMPER
If you’re struggling to find the perfect Christmas gift, take inspiration from some bloggers who are in the know. We asked each to fill a hamper with presents for someone special, witha little help from their children.

"We’ve made a start on our shopping by putting together a colourful Christmas hamper, full of treats for a Grandma who needs cheering up. And when I say we, I really mean it…the recipient and contents were picked by my children.
My mum has been having a bit of a hard time of late, so she seemed like the obvious choice and we wanted to treat her. We talked about what we’d like to put in it – mainly, cheerful, colourful treats and things she’d like – from a mug for her tea and biscuits to go with it, through to tasty things to eat and drink, something warm to wear and relaxing and lovely bath and body stuff. Knowing how much my children love to talk, I can’t believe we’ll be keeping this under wraps until Christmas…"

John Lewis challenged us to make a hamper for Christmas – with Miss Marnie doing the item selections that will be added into the hamper to make the perfect gift. We decided to make one for her new teacher and teaching assistant – as she has just started school I thought this was a great idea to get her thinking about Christmas gifts.
Miss M’s reception class is called ‘Hedgehogs’ so I thought it was really lovely that she spied these mugs for her teachers morning cuppas. I then asked Miss M whether we should add chocolates or biscuits and she said ‘tea and biscuits, mummy’ – that’s my girl! She also wanted to give them some flowers but as that’s unpractical we settled on this faux plant pot – how cheery will that look on their desk or filing cabinet?

When John Lewis asked if we’d like to work with them and have Chiswick Boy, 9, create a Christmas hamper for someone special, I said yes quicker than you can say ‘ho ho ho’. So we decided to make a Christmas hamper for darling Grams – that’s my mum, Chiswick Boy’s granny.
Chiswick Boy spent a long time stroking this onesie before we bought it for Grams – he knows it will be perfect for him to snuggle up next to on the sofa, watching ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ for the 1000th time. Grams collects owls and we couldn’t make a hamper without including some owls in it! Chiswick Boy looked at a few owl hanging ornaments, but declared this was the best – and I have to agree.

As little man has been full of cold this week, I thought he could choose some goodies via the website. He decided that he was going to buy some surprise gifts for his Daddy. After failing to convince me that his Daddy would love a Cozmo robot and some Hotwheels cars, he got searching for more suitable gifts.
The first thing that caught his eye was this lovely Daddy mug by Emma Bridgewater. I thought this was a really nice choice of his and I know my husband will love it. He did make me smile when he nodded profusely at the screen when these ciders appeared. Although not a regular cider drinker, Craig does enjoy a tipple now and again. And who doesn’t love chocolate? Jayden loved that these chocolate bars taste like puddings.
