Gift cards & E-Gift Cards

How long is a Gift Card valid for?

The Gift Card will expire 24 months from purchase or last use. Making a purchase or a balance enquiry refreshes the 24-month expiry period.

Can I use Gift Cards on telephone orders?

You can buy gift cards and e-gift cards to be used as part or full payment on telephone orders made via 03456 049 049

Using your card(s) online, in shops or over the phone

ONLINE

When you checkout you’ll be asked to enter 2 codes for each gift card or e-gift card you wish to use.

These are: 1. the 19-digit number found on the back of the gift card or included in your e-gift card email
2. the scratch-off PIN found on the back of the gift card or included in your e-gift card email

 

GIFT CARD NUMBERS

For multiple gift cards, enter one set of codes at a time.After entering the gift card codes, your order balance will be automatically updated with credit to the value of the gift card(s).

If there’s any balance to pay, you can use a debit or credit card in the usual way.If the total order value is less than the value of the gift card or e-gift card, any balance will remain on your account and can be applied to future purchases, provided that the card has not expired.

If you wish to use your remaining gift card balance at a later date, keep hold of your gift card or e-gift card email.

 

IN SHOPS

You can spend your gift card or e-gift card in any of our shops. You can show and use the downloaded e-gift card on your phone in John Lewis & Partners and Waitrose & Partners shops.

 

BY PHONE

Gift cards and e-gift cards can be used for orders placed through our Customer Service centre on 03456 100 337.

We will simply ask you at time of purchase for the gift card number and the PIN. For gift cards, the PIN is on the back of the gift card and is visible after removing the silver scratch panel.

Buying a gift card or Experience Gift card over the phone

You can buy gift cards and experience gift cards over the phone by calling 0330 123 0350

Buying gift cards or e-gift cards for a business

You can buy gift cards in a denomination up to £2,500, together with a card wallet and envelope for presentation.

To get competitive discounts on orders over £1000, please vivit John Lewis for Business or call 03456 037 979. For business orders under £1000, please call 03301 230 351.

Gift cards and e-gift cards can be used online or at any John Lewis & Partners branch.

RETURNING ITEMS BOUGHT IN A SHOP WITH A GIFT CARD

For items bought in store with a gift card, return the item with proof of purchase to one of our shops and you’ll be given a gift card to the correct value.

RETURNING ITEMS BOUGHT ONLINE WITH A GIFT CARD

If you return an item you bought online using a gift card or e-gift card, usually we’ll refund you to an e-gift card.


RETURNING ITEMS BOUGHT AS A PART OF AN EXPERIENCE GIFT

For items bought that were recommended as a part of an Experience Gift, you can return the item to one of our shops and you’ll be given a gift card to the correct value.

What is an Experience gift?

An experience gift is where you can give someone an in-person experience, like a Personal Styling session, along withg a gift card of up to £500 (£10 minimum online).

There's no obligation to buy anything during the experience, but if they do want to they can use the gift card towards the purchase.

Our gift cards expire 24-months from purchase or the last transaction.

Booking an Experience

Experience gift cards can be redeemed in any of our shops that provide the experiences.

We recommened checking which shops offer a service before buying.

You can book an experience online or in-store, though some experiences will depend on location and availability.

Each Experience gift comes in a specially wrapped gift box with a ribbon and gift card for your personal message. You can also choose an e-gift card option.

Beauty experience

John Lewis Partnership gift vouchers

John Lewis Partnership gift vouchers are no longer available to buy but we're still issuing them as Rewards on our Partnership Card programme, and you can still use them online and in our shops.

How to use gift vouchers

Shop as usual on the website and then proceed to checkout. During checkout you'll be asked to enter two codes for each voucher you wish to spend. These are:

  • the 10-digit serial number on the bottom right of the voucher
  • the 7-character online security code underneath the scratch-off panel
  • for multiple gift vouchers, enter one set of voucher codes at a time

    After entering in the gift voucher codes, your order will be automatically updated with credit to the value of the voucher(s). If there's any balance to pay, you can use a debit or credit card in the usual way.Gift vouchers have no expiry date; please note this is different to our gift cards which expire after 2 years

    Gift vouchers can only be used once, and they cannot be used in our shops once the holographic panel has been scratched off. If your gift vouchers are accidentally damaged, please contact the Partnership Credit Card Team via your Online Account or app, or call them on 0330 1759 829.

Using Partnership Card Vouchers

Partnership gift vouchers are no longer issued, but we're still issuing them as rewards on our Partnership Card programme.

If you've entered the voucher details in checkout and it isn't accepted, please try again and make sure the details match. If it still wont go through contact our customer services team on 03456 049 049.

You can use John Lewis & Partner vouchers at Waitrose & Partners shops, at waitrose.com, waitrosecellar.com and waitroseflorist.com.

Vouchers can not be exchanged for cash.

There are no expiry dates for vouchers.

Returning items bought with a voucher

If you bought an item in-store using a voucher, you can return the items with proof of purchase to one of our shops. You'll recieve a gift card to the correct value.

If you ought an item online using a voucher we will refund the amount to an e-gift card.
